Spinal Manipulation

Spinal Manipulation - Naturopathic Manipulative TherapyThe art of touch, physical therapy, and spinal manipulation are the basic tools of Naturopathic Manipulative Therapy (NMT) for chronic disease, and neck, back, sports, and motor vehicle injuries. Similar to chiropractic medicine, NMT focuses on the relationship between the spinal column and the nervous system. Through spinal manipulation, your naturopathic doctor alleviates problems caused by the misalignment of the vertebrae.

The doctor will primarily use their hands to apply pressure to a joint or group of joints. This treatment is known as a “manipulation”. The aim of using manipulation is to provide relief for pain or stiffness, and to improve posture as well as the function of nerves, joints, and muscles.
